What could be wrong with my laptop touchpad?

Touchpad and mouse buttons won’t work after spilling milk on laptop?

I spilled a little milk over my laptop, mostly over the keys however they are working fine. The touchpad will move around but when I tap it, it won’t click on anything. The two mouse buttons underneath also will not work at all. I have removed some excess milk and wiped my laptop to remove all milk but still no luck. What can I do to fix them?
Can’t afford to get it repaired at a repair shop…
It’s a Samsung RV510 Notebook

Bring it to a repair shop. You cannot manually repair electronics which have been hydrated in any way.

Be patient, try turning it off, wait for at least 24 hours, if that won’t work, you’ll have to get an external USB-mouse.

What could be wrong with my laptop’s touchpad?

I have an old ibook g3 that has a touchpad that does not work at all. It works with a normal mouse. Also, the clicking thing under the touchpad is not working either.

IBM R52 touchpad not working?

Hi,
I have am IBM R52 laptop. The touchpad has suddenly stopped working. I can use the touchpad to move the mouse pointer but can not click with it. Double tapping on the pad doesn’t work. Neither of the touchpad keys work. So, effectively I can move the pointer over a web page hyper link but can not select it (I can do if I use tab to highlight the link and press enter key). I can do all operations with a USB mouse connected. Can you advice what could be the problem ith the touchpad?

Usually if the touch pad is disabled in bios, the whole thing doesn’t work. That should not stop you from looking in the bios and see if it is enabled. Second, would look for any touchpad utilities that might disable the left, and right click. Before you even start, look for physical, and water damage on the keyboard.

HELP! Spilt water on laptop; touchpad and right and left-click not working?

I spilt Tesco Sparkling Mineral Water over my keyboard and now my touchpad and right and left click buttons are not working.
What can I do?! I’m so anxious and frustrated, please help!
Thank you for all your help.

lmrsuk: I am aware of this, it happens to all of us… most likely something similar has happened to you, in which cases, I return the “ROFLMAO, Dumbass” and add, “Jackass.”

Hi c;

Remove the battery, and all power to the laptop, take a soft cloth and dry up what you can. Since it is a sparkling water that means there is probably some sugar in it. The right and left click could become sticky. Take a q-tip or something similar and damp it with rubbing alcohol. Use the q-tip to clean around the right and left click. Then let the laptop dry out for a couple of days, unless we are only talking about a drop or two, in which case you will be fine. Turn it on after a couple of days and you shuld be good to go.

Good Luck!

My computers mouse is broken but I’m not sure how to fix it?

Basically, it’s a cordless optical mouse by logitech that I have running into my laptop. It’s worked fine since I got it about 4 months ago. However the other night it stopped working.

Basically, I can still click and use the wheel, but if I move it the cursor doesn’t move. However, if I leave it for a bit, say 2-3 minutes, it’ll move the cursor when I move it for a bout 5-10 seconds then stops again, but the buttons still work.

I’ve tried reinstalling the driver and what not but I get nothing new. From what I read simialr problems are caused by the windows driver however the laptops touchpad works fine, so I think it might be the mouse, any input?
