Touch pad problem on Dell Inspiron.?
I am on my daughter’s laptop and the right tab on the touch pad that you use to copy and paste is not working. It highlights ok but doesn’t bring up the box that lets you copy.. I checked her settings and shows that it is enabled.. Any help would be appreciated thank you.
Well, to begin with, make sure the mouse (touchpad) settings are correct:
If this does not fix the problem, download the ‘touchpad’ driver and any soft ware from the internet and install them. If this does not fix it replace the pad…

Dell laptop question?
I have an Inspiron 6000 notebook and the little mouse touchpad thing has a scroll arrow on it, similar to the scroll wheel on a regular mouse. The problem is that I got a new hard drive a while ago and ever since then I can’t scroll with the touchpad, I have to physically click on scrollbar and it’s very tedious.
I’ve tried control panel and troubleshoot and everything but I can’t figure out how to turn the scroll arrow on again.
Does anybody know what I can do, without having to call Dell?
Go to support.dell com, and in the upper-right corner of the screen search for “R113813″ — the first result will be a download for the Alps GlidePoint driver. Download and install this file, then the scroll area of the touchpad should work again.
